Cretaceous aged Naparima Hill Formation at the San Fernando Hill. This is thought (Rodrigues) to be the source rock for most of Trinidad and Tobago's oil and gas reserves. Commercial hydrocarbon bearing reservoirs have recently been encountered off the east coast of Trinidad.
