ABANDONED AND MARGINAL FIELDS

Agostini Field, Located to the east of Rio Claro, Discovered in 1925 by T.C.O. and G.P.P., discovered by drilling near seepages, the type of trap is stratigraphic and anticlinical, produced from the Herrera, six wells were drilled with a cumululative production of 1,437 bbls. The field was abandoned in 1925.

Aripero Field,Located to the south east of SanFernando, was discovered in 1867 by Darwent, discovered by drilling near seepages, the type of trap is anticlinical, produced from Oligocene sands, six wells were drilled with no cumululative production recorded. The field was abandoned in 1929.

Lizard Field,Located to the south east of Rio Claro, was discovered in 1928 by T.C.O. discovered by using surface geology, the type of trap is diapiric (anticlinical), produced from sands and fractured rock of Paleocene/Cretaceous ages, 21 wells were drilled with no cumululative production recorded. The field was abandoned in 1939.

Maloney Field, Located to the south west of Mayaro, was discovered in 1949 by T.L.L., discovered by using surface geology, the type of trap is anticlinical, produced from sands of the Gros Morne Formation, 4 wells were drilled by TLL before the field was abandoned in 1949. TRINTOPEC drilled one well in 1990, MAL5XX to the Karamat Formation that tested oil.
