The Fourteenth Caribbean Geological Conference will be held in Trinidad, in 1995, and will coincide with our own
Third Geological Conference. The Conference sub-committee will be chaired by Kenneth Birchwood. Many more members
are needed to plan and organize this major Conference for it to be a success. Interested persons are asked to contact
GSTT President, Eric Williams, at TRINTOC, Pointe-a-Pierre, or to write-in to the Conference Committee at P.O.
Box 3524 La Romain, to volunteer their services.
The 11th. Technical Conference of the Trinidad and Tobago Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers comes off
on June 23-25, 1993, at the Gulf City Shopping Centre. The theme of the conference is "Energy Perspectives
for Trinidad and Tobago." Thirty papers will be presented over the first two-days. A half-day panel discussion
will be held on June 25, on the topic - Energy Policy for Trinidad and Tobago. An exposition on the theme "Energy
Perspectives for Trinidad and Tobago" will run for all three days in the Auditorium.
The Caribbean Conference on Volcanology, Seismology and Earthquake Engineering will be hosted by the Seismic Research
Unit and the Department of Civil Engineering, at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad, on
October 11 - 15, 1993. The GSTT is one of several sponsors of this conference and GSTT President; Eric Williams
is on the organising committee. There will be an exhibition of hardware, software and services related to the theme
of the conference. Papers are welcome in the topics: Earthquake and Volcano hazards and risk, Earthquake and volcano
monitoring, Earthquake Engineering and Hazard mitigation. For further information, contact:

The 1994 AAPG Annual Convention will be held in Denver, Colorado, from June 12-15, 1994. The theme of the Convention
is "Analogs for the World", in recognition of the increasingly global arena of hydrocarbon exploration
and development. Abstracts of 250 words or less are due by November 1, 1993, and should be sent to: 1994 Abstracts,

Geological and Biological Evolution of the Caribbean Region is the theme of a 3-day Symposium, in honour of the
60th Birthday of Professor Edward Robinson, to be hosted by the Department of Geology at the U.W.I., Mona, Jamaica,
from October 15, 1994. It is hoped that the range of papers offered will be as broad as Ted Robinson's interests
within Geology. Interested geoscientists and alumni can contact Dr. Trevor Jackson, at the Department of Geology.
