Currently 15-3-2003 the mud vlocano appears to have been almost totally eroded
below sea level, with a few rocks at the eastern end. However, three areas of shallow discoloured water are visible
to the west of the island, suggesting that there may be three other centers of activity just below sea level. The
hills in Chatam are the beast place to view this.
The co-ordinates of the November 2002 mud volcano are: WGS84, UTM20 (Naparima Datum) : E 0639618.878 N 1112466.490
The mud volcano re-appeared sometime in November, but an exact date is unavailable.

Its height is 8' above sea level, and 160' in diameter. There are four areas where gas bubbles are escaping and no vents or craters are present.

The western side is fringed by large boulders of algae covered sandstone. These boulders
were probably on the water bottom as a result of the erosion of the 2001 mud volcano, and subsequently uplifted
by the new eruption. Present are sandstones, pyrite and chert.
