DIGITY

The mud volcano is located at E 0673357, N 1126421 (UTM Naparima datum)

2007

Top of the cone - someone has dug a hole trying to find liquid mud, without success.

The level and duration of inactivity, is shown by the amount of grass growing onthe sides of the cone.

View of Digity looking northwards, vegetation is starting to encroach on the tassik (unvegetated area surrounding the cone). The mud volcano has been inactive since 2005.

2003

The cone is 63' above sea level and is 20' high with mud and gas being ejected very infrequently (22/2/2003) It appears also that the amount of mud being ejected is directly related to the amount of rainfall, since in the dry season little or activity is present. Meteoric water may thus important here.
